Targeting synergism and transformation as evaluation strategies, 8/7/14
Synergism and transformation are examined as two new strategies to include when determining the impact of evaluation in our professional lives and our completed project. As a growing transdisclipline, professionals are often drawn to the evaluation field based on its potential to improve initiatives or systems. This think tank seeks to understand how evaluation is used beyond its most apparent utility as a job, project, or funding requirement. With such diversity in practitioners, there is much ambiguity on what improvement or success means and how success can be facilitated by incorporating synergism and transformation. At the end of this think tank, participants will be able to: a) operationalize and define synergism and transformation, b) identify how internalized beliefs could limit the development of meaningful relationship, and c) list strategies of how to incorporate synergism and transformation in evaluation practice. Itihari Toure, Derrick Gervin, Ayanna Swain, and Ayana Perkins facilitate this think tank.
